For this assignment, you will be conducting analysis based on the PittaRosso case (HBS-523-046). You will need the Excel worksheet that comes with the case (522710-XLS-ENG) to explore the outcome of various strategic decisions for PittaRosso. When submitted your dashboard, you can (preferably) submit the packaged workbook from Tableau (when saving the file, select “Tableau Packaged Workbooks” on the Save as type drop-down list) or submit the spreadsheet separately.
1.Following the instructions in the Instructions worksheet, investigate how changing the parameters of the firm’s marketing strategy in the Strategy worksheet impact the relevant outcomes. Some specific questions to explore include:
a.How do the different shoe categories respond to promotions and discounts?
b.What is the effect of the various 3x2 discounts?
c.Do the effects of promotion vary over time?
d.What is the impact of changes in objective function?
e.What are the highest revenues, margins and minimal inventories you can achieve?
2.After exploring these questions, systematically investigate how these changes impact the KPIs for the firm, and record the data in another spreadsheet.
3.Prepare a dashboard to visualize the most important outcomes and relationships from your results.
4.Given the varying concerns of the finance and buying teams, what do you recommend? How can you use your dashboard to convey this information effectively?
